Kojic Acid
By Rhonda | May 10, 2007
There are many skin lightener products on the market. These products use a variety of ingredients to reduce uneven skin pigmentation. One of these is Kojic Acid.
Kojic Acid is used in skin lightening creams to control hyperpigmentation (darkening of the tissue). This uneven skin pigmentation can be caused by several factors including skin damage (from skin blemishes, wounds or rashes), sun exposure, and hormonal changes (during pregnancy, while taking birth control pills or while receiving estrogen replacement therapy).
We carry several products that contain kojic acid to treat different skin conditions and skin problems:
- IS Clinical Active Serum - Kojic Acid plus Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid provides improvements in overall skin quality including diminishing fine lines and wrinkles, evening pigmentation, and controlling acne.
- IS Clinical Eye Complex - Helps lighten dark under-eye circles.
- IS Clinical Hydra-Cool Serum - Provides relief for dry and damaged skin as well as sunburned skin.
- IS Clinical Pro-Heal Serum - Kojic Acid plus Vitamin C (stabilized L-Ascorbic Acid), Vitamin E, and Vitamin A (Retinol) treats acne and rosacea.
- IS Clinical Super Serum - Kojic Acid along with other skin care ingredients helps lighten the skin while reducing stretch marks and scar marks.
- Jan Marini Factor - A Plus Mask - Use once or twice a week to help minimize the appearance of acne discoloration and scarring
- Neova Kojic Complex Gel - Blends alpha hydroxy acids with Kojic Acid to combat uneven skin.
- SkinCeuticals Phyto + - Botanical gel for hyperpigmentation.
Be sure to consult with a dermatologist before using products with Kojic Acid or any other skin lightener product.
