Obagi Clear

This is the third of a six-part series on Obagi Nu-Derm.
Obagi Clear is Step #3 in a 6 step skin treatment line from Obagi Nu-Derm. This amazing product contains 4% hydroquinone (a bleaching agent) and can be used AM and PM to get rid of hyperpigmentation, freckles and uneven skin tone.
I had freckles on my nose all my life and growing up in Texas and California I had my share of sun damage. In my 30’s I started noticing brown spots appearing on the left side of my face and on my hands.
Did you know that as the driver of a car you will get sun damage on the side of your face and hands? I was so embarrassed when a young man I was dating told me he really liked “older women” (we were both 30) and when I asked him why he thought I was older he told me my hands showed my age. Well it’s very Clear, he was not Mr. Right.
I did realize at that time I needed to do something to protect my skin, but I couldn’t find anything that really worked. We didn’t realize then that staying out of the sun and using sunscreen protection was the best defense.
It was at least a decade later that a friend told me about Obagi Nu-Derm. I started using the Obagi - Step 1 - Foaming Gel and Obagi - Step 3 - Clear and started protecting my skin with sunscreen. I felt some dryness at first but within a few weeks the freckles had completely disappeared.
With continued use my brown spots on my face and my hands started fading, too. I realized Obagi Clear was the product I had been looking for.
I decided to add the complete Obagi Nu-Derm regimen to my skin treatment routine. I got rid of all my over the counter products and put out all 6 of my little white bottles and followed the directions.
It wasn’t long before someone told me I had beautiful skin. That was a first!
After applying Clear to my face morning and evening I take the small amount remaining and apply to my hands. It is so thrilling to find something that works.
I am in the skincare business and we get a chance to try something new every week, but I keep going back to my Obagi Clear when my brown spots start to peek through again.
Just a little exposure to the sun and no protection will always make those things return but if you put yourself on a maintenance program once you have achieved “beautiful skin” you will be able to keep your “Clear” skin by using Clear every 3 days.
That’s all it will take. Oh yes, don’t forget the sunscreen.
