This SkinMedica retinol treatment uses the patented MICROSPONGE® delivery system to provide gradual release of the retinoids over time. This unique system reduces the irritation typically associated with many retinol products, allowing SkinMedica to formulate Tri-Retinol Complex ES with the highest concentration available in a non-prescription retinol treatment. This complex system delivers three forms of vitamin A for rejuvenated, resurfaced skin:
1% Retinol – Enhances exfoliation for smoother, softer skin and regulates cell growth and development to form healthy skin cells.
Retinyl Palmitate – Keeps skin soft and plump by increasing epidermal thickness.
Retinyl Acetate – A natural vitamin A derivative that helps restore sun-damaged skin.

This product is recommended as an advanced retinol treatment for skin pre-conditioned by using SkinMedica Tri-Retinol Complex or another retinol treatment containing a lower concentration of retinoids. Apply a single pump to face in the evening.
If you have never used a retinol treatment before, begin by limiting use to twice a week, two to three days apart. Gradually increase the frequency to every other night. After one to two weeks, advance to each evening or as tolerated. Mild redness, peeling and irritation are expected when using this product.
